BURNS- Do you know how to recognize burns? |
First Degree Burns:
- superficial lesions of the skin;
- Reddening and swelling of the skin;
- Presence of pain and burning / soreness;
- Spontaneous recovery with scaling of the skin and without scarring;
- Time of recovery 5-7 days;
Second Degree Burns:
- Superficial and deep lesions of the skin;
- Presence of blisters (fittene) with whitish and/or bright red spots;
- Intense pain;
- Spontaneous recovery of the superficial lesion, whereas the deeper lesion requires surgery;
- Superficial lesion disappears easily without scarring;
- Time of recovery is of 10-15 days for the superficial lesion, whereas the deeper lesion takes 16-25 days;
Third Degree Burns:
- Deep lesion of the tissues ( skin-muscles-tendons-bones );
- Brown, blackish, marble-white coloration of the skin; to the touch the skin has a very thick texture – pigskin-like;
- Absence of pain due to the death of the nerve cells;
- Time of recovery is not spontaneous and surgery is necessary;
- Serious scarring.
